When doctors and other health professionals join together for the common good of their profession, patients, and their communities, it is noteworthy. When they work together to accomplish these goals to improve society for a half century, it is extraordinary. I am excited to announce UAPD’s seventeenth Triennial Convention. Our convention will be held in person on Friday and Saturday, October 25 and October 26, 2024, at the Westin Bonaventure Hotel, 404 S Figueroa St, Los Angeles, CA 90071.
I encourage all of our membership, including non-dues paying members, to participate in this two-day event. On Friday, we are planning a discussion on AI in healthcare, review of UAPD constitutional amendments and resolutions, a stewards’ panel, sector breakout sessions, and a special financial planning discussion. Following these activities will be a hosted evening reception. On Saturday, we will introduce the new UAPD Board, listen to financial, organizing and legislative reports, as well as hear from AFSCME International and our State of the Union Address. During lunch, we will present the Marcus Service Award and hear our keynote speaker. We will follow lunch with ratification of Constitutional Amendments and Resolutions.
Stewards and convention delegates will have their travel and rooms paid for by UAPD. The notice and detailed instructions on delegate elections and convention registration was emailed to members last week. If you plan to attend and have not yet registered, RSVP today.
Fraternally yours,
Stuart Bussey, M.D., J.D.
UAPD President
