Los Angeles, CA — More than 100 anesthesiologists employed through Beverly Anesthesiology, Inc. affiliated with Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, have won their right to unionize with the Union of American Physicians and Dentists (UAPD) with 75 percent majority support.
“There’s strength in numbers with a union,” said Dr. Stuart Bussey, UAPD’s president. “Now the anesthesiologists can ensure their concerns are heard and have a say in the decision-making process affecting them at work.”
On Monday, January 22, 2024, the National Labor Relations Board certified the election results. The UAPD will be the exclusive representative of anesthesiologists employed at three Cedars-Sinai Medical Center locations in Los Angeles for the purposes of negotiating wages, benefits, and working conditions.
