On Tuesday, August 8, the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors signed the new BU301 contract.
The increase in special pay practices will be implemented and members will start receiving the following bonuses:
Special Pay Practices:
- Increase evening shift differential to $3.00 per hour – RETROACTIVE 10/1/22
- Increase night shift differential to $5.75 per hour – RETROACTIVE 10/1/22
- Increase weekend differential to $4.00 per hour – RETROACTIVE 10/1/22
- Increase the Detention and Correctional Facilities Assignment Bonus to 5.5% – RETROACTIVE 10/1/22
The following bonuses will be effective October 1, 2023:
- NEW Staff Pharmacist working as Clinical Pharmacist Assignment Bonus:
- Staff Pharmacists who are assigned by management to perform Clinical Pharmacist duties and responsibilities in eight-hour increments or more shall receive a 5.5% per shift bonus. This will give current Staff Pharmacists promotional opportunities and higher pay.
- NEW Administrative Projects and Initiatives Bonus for Clinical Pharmacists and Staff Pharmacists:
- DHS Pharmacists and DHS and DMH Clinical Pharmacists assigned the administrative responsibility for priority projects, initiatives, or clinical operations, as defined by the DHS and DMH Chief Pharmacy Officer or their designee shall receive a 3% bonus.

In September, we’ll be holding a town hall and worksite meetings to prepare for the implementation of these bonuses.
