Update: The agreement has been ratified and is in effect until December 2026. The UAPD bargaining team is also pleased that after individuals meetings with the Santa Barbara County Board of Supervisors discussing the vast discrepancy in civil service salaries vs. private sector salaries, the Board has granted a generous bonus plan to recruit and retain County physicians and psychiatrists. After months of caucusing and weeks of bargaining on behalf of our physicians in Santa Barbara County, UAPD is pleased to announce that we’ve reached a tentative agreement with the County on a successor Memorandum of Understanding.
The updated agreement includes salary increases, medical benefits, continuing medical education reimbursements, paid holidays, along with other revisions to the contract. The tentative agreement will be presented to the County Board of Supervisors for approval before the end of November 2022.
