UAPD’s 2015 Free CME and Organizing Training will take place Saturday, May 2nd at the San Francisco Airport Westin. You can register online here.
Here’s what we have to offer!
Free 4-Credit CME/CE: All are encouraged to attend “The Legislature in Public Health,” a free educational activity held Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Controversial issues like immunization, the right to die, and marijuana regulation will go before the State Legislature this session, and in this course we will examine the bills from the point of view of health care providers. Speakers include State Senator Richard Pan, M.D., among others.
Lunch: Here’s a chance to break bread with fellow UAPD members from every sector. Guest speakers will be announced soon.
Organizing Training: UAPD is part of a nationwide campaign to increase union membership. The best organizers are current union members who are willing to talk to their colleagues about the importance of supporting the union. This training, which runs from 2 pm – 4 pm on Saturday, will give you the tools you need to do that effectively. No experience necessary – all are welcome to participate!
Most UAPD members are responsible for their own travel and hotel costs for attending the meeting. UAPD covers the travel and hotel costs of Board Members, and of stewards and bargaining team members who attend the organizing training on Saturday afternoon. If you need a hotel room reserved at the special UAPD rate, please be sure to register before April 10th. You can register online here.
