The Latest News on San Francisco Layoff Plan

On April 6, 2010, the City and County of San Francisco sent out an update regarding the citywide layoffs. The effective date for layoffs has, once again, been postponed, this time until June 11, 2010. When we last met with the City, ERD and DPH indicated that rehire notices would be going out this week. It is unclear if this latest action will also delay the distribution of those rehire notices. The UAPD is waiting for the rehire/permanent layoff notices to be distributed to our members before we schedule another meeting with the City.

If you received a rehire notice or a permanent layoff notice/discussion, please contact the UAPD at uapd@uapd.com, subject line: “CCSF Layoffs” or fax your notice to (510) 763-8756. The UAPD committee is also awaiting important information from the City that was requested by the Union during our initial meet and confer meeting. This information is necessary in our fight against all of the layoffs and must be provided to the UAPD under the law.

Linked below (also sent by regular mail to UAPD members) is the latest update from Human Resources regarding the citywide layoffs.  The effective date for layoffs has, once again, been postponed, this time until June 11, 2010.
